live works vol.8

Curato da Barbara Boninsegna e Simone Frangi

mentor 2020 Krystel Khoury

Live Works is now at its eighth edition. In resonance with the present and future possibilities of our mobility and our physical coexistence, artists, curators and mentors are cooperating to identify new ways of mentoring and the best ways to develop a fellowship to offer to the artists the residence of research and production, the free school with commentary and feedback sessions during 2020, as well as the live programme that will take place, in line with the current health regulations, in March 2021.

Since its inception, LIVE WORKS has been conceived as an opportunity to meet living bodies and as a moment of strong proximity, capable of bringing out forms of collective intelligence and sharing of skills. In response to the precariousness of our shared condition and recognizing a responsibility towards the artists selected for Live Works Vol. 8, the curatorial team has revised the boundaries of its format.

In a climate of constant change, Centrale Fies and the LIVE WORKS curatorial team add important innovations to the eighth edition. The 7 projects selected by Barbara Boninsegna and Simone Frangi are granted a scholarship instead of a production prize.

Conceived as an evolving organism, LIVE WORKS is each year increasingly consistent with the philosophy of its creators: it is not a simple annual event but rather a continuous platform, animated by a true policy of curating, nurturing, supporting and spreading emerging artistic practices that create new scenarios and expand the research in the performative field.
